Júlia Karosi - singer
Áron Tálas - piano
Ádám Bögöthy - double bass
Bendegúz Varga - drums

In her new album Hidden Roots, released in 2014 in New York, Júlia Karosi began to focus more closely on the relationship between her musical roots and jazz. The resulting compositions and folk-song arrangements received a very positive critical response both in Hungary and abroad.

Encouraged by this, the singer began to search for a source of inspiration deeply embedded in Hungarian music culture, inspired by Bartók and Kodály's compositions. Since 2018 she has been working as an MMA Fellow on vocal transcriptions of the works of Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály. In February 2019, the Julia Karosi Quartet performed at the closing concert of the Müpa Jazz Showcase, with special guest Ben Monder, one of New York's most sought-after jazz guitarists. The music performed there will be released with the title Without Dimension, later this year. The band will play a selection from these new compositions.
