Dear Concert Visitor!

The repertoire of works written for the tarogato by present-day composers is a complete string of pearls. Solos, duos, trios, quintets, and concertos composed for orchestras and tarogato. Nearly thirty great compositions give our recently discovered Hungarian instrument and its performers a wonderful chance. Since most of these works were composed for me personally, I had the opportunity to assist with their birth, so they are all equally dear and important to me. They occupy a worthy place in the pearl necklace of today's Hungarian music, and not just because of this special instrument. Today, we will hear a cross-section from solos to concertos, as well as rare harp or cimbalom or two cimbalom arrangements. First performances round out the concert to present all of the faces of the "tame" and masterful tárogató this evening.
