In 2017, the cello was the instrument of the year in Germany. Perhaps not by accident, since the 12 cellists of the Philharmonic Orchestra elevated this instrument to the ranks of a world star. Instead of German artists, though, we look forward to some cherished cellists: young artists, all students of the Kossuth Prize-winning cello artist Csaba Onczay. They are coming to perform an extended version of the material they presented at the Music Academy last year titled On the Spot - The Cello where every teacher had the opportunity to introduce themselves and their students. The great success of the performance encouraged them to show themselves to the world outside their Alma Mater.
