Bernadett Fodor started her classical vocal studies at age 20 as a student of Veronika Dobi-Kiss in Győr, then continued at the Vienna Music Academy in Gabriele Lechner's classroom. Her current mentor is Sylvia Sass. On stage, she debuted in 2008 as Suzuki on the NCPA stage in Mumbai, India. In 2010, she was awarded the first Birgit Nilsson Prize for Young Singers in Vienna. She is a returning guest artist of the Frankfurt Opera House, featured in many European countries. Her current repertoire encompasses nearly twenty dramatic mezzosoprano and alto roles, including the eight heroines of the Ring, Bartók's Judit, Carmen and Verdi's Ulrika. In the latter role, she made her debut in Frankfurt with outstanding success in 2013, where Neue Merker described her as a monumental phenomenon both in terms of voice and acting. A peculiar success story of hers is the role of Erda in Das Rheingold for which she was awarded the Goldener Schikaneder Prize in 2015. In Hungary, she debuted at the Wagner Days of Müpa Budapest and as Erda at the Hungarian State Opera House in 2015. Bernadette Fodor is accompanied by pianist István Bonyhádi at the concert.
