Occasionally, I used an entire rehearsal (almost like a lecture) for a non-musical theme (eg. a book, an oeuvre or a personality - Széchenyi, Schweitzer, Saint-Exupéry). But if somebody else was working on a topic, he could safely come up with it, there was always time to listen, to exchange views. Of course, camps are the most suitable for this, but during the season many of these conversations filled a rehearsal break or "used up" the second half of the rehearsal. And - maybe this reflects my not-so-professional musician mentality - I have never regretted the time we "lost" from the point of view of the rehearsal.

Ottó Till (Community Through Music)

Beloved music teacher, founder of the Óbuda Chamber Orchestra, school principal, and honorary citizen of Óbuda Ottó Till was born 90 years ago, on June 30, 1929.

His orchestra dedicates this year's closing concert to his memory in the concert hall that bears Till Ottó's name since October 1, 2018. He founded the orchestra as a young twenty-five-year-old man and led it, kept it together till the end, giving former students  who chose civilian professions a chance to never stop playing music. Some of his students have become musicians who are always glad to join the band as guest soloists.

Tickets: 1000 Ft
