ANIMA MUSICAE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
MUSIC IN THE GARDEN
Artistic director: László G. Horváth
Featuring: Kai Frömbgen - oboe
Tell me, does music have a soul?
If there is, I'll cling to it and revel,
It will teach me how to fly,
And not at high school level.
János Lackfi greeted the Anima Musicae Chamber Orchestra celebrating the 3rd anniversary of these verses. This year's 9-year-old band has been honored by the title National Youth Orchestra since last year. They always invite excellent soloists to their concerts, as they did this time: Kai Frömbgen, a young professor at the Düsseldorf College of Music, is playing Mozart's oboe concerto that had an adventurous journey, as it was thought to be lost and finally found in 1920 in Salzburg. The rest of the concert is a gem each. Like Boccherini's work, a 9-movement serenade that describes the path of a guard patroling the streets of Madrid from the first to the last sound of the drum. The chamber music arrangement of Rossini's String Sonata in A isn't any less interesting or valuable. The painfully beautiful opening tunes of Haydn's La Passione symphony composed in the most sad key, F minor, reach animated heights through a colorful emotional journey. At this concert we will surely meet Anima Musicae, the Spirit of Music.
