Attila László's compositions and jazz evergreens

After graduating from the Faculty of Architecture, the outstanding jazz musician began his guitar studies at the Béla Bartók Music School as a student of Gyula Babos in 1977. After completing the jazz conservatory he played in leading Hungarian ensembles. In 1975 he founded the band Kaszakő, whose original music was recorded on the record Édenkert in 1983. From 1980 to 1988 he worked as a studio musician at the Hungarian Radio. In 1985, he and Tony Lakatos formed Things, which lasted for seven years. Since 1987 he has been a teacher and head of the big band at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. In 1999, he was elected president of the Hungarian Jazz Association, a position he held until 2005.

As a composer, arranger and musician Attila László works together with Charlie Horváth. He was also instrumental in the production of musical material for Zsuzsa Cserháti's albums in the early 1990s. During his career he has performed with renowned musicians such as Anthony Jackson, Randy Brecker, James Moody, Tommy Campbell, Dave Friedman, Gary Willis, and Bob Mintzer. Attila László's compositions are marked by subtlety, a sensitive world of harmony, pastel-like orchestration as well as vigor and rich energy.
