The successful concert series of the Péter Sárik Trio continues!

This new episode focuses on Hungarian songs, and the team has selected and reworked the biggest hits of recent decades. The Trio is now joined by Mariann Falusi, who needs no introduction. She is proficient in many genres, be it classical music, jazz, musical or pop. The CD Jazzkívánságműsor magyarul has 15 Hungarian songs, each from a different time and style. What they have in common is that they have never been heard in this form anywhere before.

Mariann Falusi and Péter Sárik have been playing together since 2009. After its premiere in Hungary, they played their first show  in New York with tremendous success. Over the past decade, Mariann and the Trio have created a number of joint shows, crowning them with the current program: skipping between genres and styles with songs sung by the audience, all the while listening or even dancing to jazz. So far two CDs have been released, the first was awarded a Fonogram Award (Jazz Recording of the Year) in 2014 and the second was nominated for the same award in 2016.

The Péter Sárik Trio has become one of Hungary's most popular and dominant jazz bands in the past ten years. One of the keys to their success is that all three members are very open, versatile musicians, so they appeal to a much wider audience than most jazz bands. The atmosphere of the ensemble's concerts is often more like a pop or rock concert, even when they play at the Music Academy or in the most prestigious concert halls. The friendliness and energy of the band wins many new fans for jazz.
