In what seems to have become a tradition, Alejandro Vela returns to the Óbudai Társaskör. This young pianist was born in Piedras Negras, Mexico but has ties with Hungary through family relations. Both his mother and grandmother played the piano. He began his studies at a Houston arts high school and at the age of seventeen in New York's Juilliard School, he became a student of Yoheved Kaplinsky. Besides family ties, his love and respect for the works of Franz Liszt and Bela Bartok draw him back to Hungary.
