In the 165th season, poems play an important role in our concerts.

In November, we "invite" poet Endre Ady. Ady learned to read score at the Piarist Grammar School in Nagykároly, which skill he later used to perform old Calvinist psalms on the organ of the Reformed Church during his years at the grammar school of Zilah.

Viktor Papp - a violinist, composer, and good friend of Ady's, in his article written in Nyugat, pointed out that Ady did not delight in "the melody but in the overtones", so he was more interested in the second part, playing in thirds. This suggests a rare, instinctive musical sensitivity, as it is not characteristic of lay people. In addition to quotes from folk songs, there are a lot of clear musical references and themes in Ady's poetry. There are over 50 music-related materials and many motifs inspired by music or acoustics in his oeuvre.

We hope to welcome you to our unique concert where music and poems take us on a special universal art journey!
