Capella Cracoviensis was founded in 1970 at the initiative of Jerzy Katlewicz, then director of the Krakow Philharmonic. Their varied repertoire ranges from medieval music to contemporary pieces. They have performed at illustrious places such as Opéra Royal Versailles, Theater an der Wien, NOSPR Katowice, and concerts in Ghent, Riga, Tallinn, Yerevan, Tbilisi and Kiev. The ensemble is one of Europe's most prestigious old music performers. Their special tones and vibrant sound was noted by several record labels. Since November, 2008, Jan Tomasz Adamus is the artistic director of the band.
