Almira Emiri was born in Tirana in 1982. Her family later moved to Fier, in southwestern Albania. At the age of 11 she gave her first piano concert. At the suggestion of her teacher, she continued her studies in Hungary: first she graduated from Székesfehérvár, then studied at the Béla Bartók Conservatory in Budapest and at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. In 2007, she also received an Art Degree at the Music Academy of Graz. During her university years, she won the special prize of the Liszt-Bartók International Piano Competition in 2004 and received a special prize at the International Brahms Competition in Pörtschach in 2006. Almira Emiri performs throughout the world, and regularly plays in Tirana. She is the cultural attaché of the Albanian Embassy in Budapest. For her concert, the Albanian artist chose works by Israeli authors.
