Mendelssohn: C major String Symphony, no. 9
The Budapest Strings have been enhancing the reputation of the beautiful capital and Hungarian music over the world for forty years. In the first part of the program, the Bartók-Pásztory Prize and the Artisjus Prize-winning ensemble play pieces by two of the most popular Baroque composers whom we know thanks to Mendelssohn. On his initiative on March 11, 1829, after a long time, the St Matthew Passion was performed and the Bach Renaissance began. During the research that followed, they also found Vivaldi's works. Thus connecting the three authors of this concert.
